"Hopes, like stars in the night sky, transcend language barriers. Just as Zamenhof's Esperanto aimed to unite people through a common tongue, our hopes connect us all. In the 19th century, Poe's haunting poem 'The Raven' echoed the longing for something more, reminding us that hope can be found even in darkness. During Christmas time, hopes blossom like oranges on trees and Fenian dreams of freedom ignite hearts. Yet amidst these aspirations, there were fears too – England bracing itself against German dreams of invasion by sea and air. In the midst of war-torn chaos during WW1 era, a nurse knelt down in prayer; her hopes intertwined with those she cared for. Saucy French postcards brought laughter amid despair while comic valentines depicted an old maid about to be blown up - a reminder that even in jest we hold onto hope. The Berlin Conference cart symbolized both ambition and disappointment as nations gathered to divide Africa amongst themselves. Meanwhile, Oliver Goldsmith's 'The Deserted Village' evoked melancholic hope for simpler times. Love also carried its own brand of hope - from James Hopes to Charlie's marriage proposal captured in vibrant lithographs - love fueled dreams and ignited souls. "
