Meet Joan Gideon, a nature enthusiast with an unwavering passion for the avian world. 🌿🐦 With her extensive knowledge and love for birds, Joan has become a respected expert in ornithology. Her fascination began when she first encountered the striking Psittacula eupatria, commonly known as the Alexandrine parakeet. Its vibrant plumage and melodious calls left an indelible mark on her heart. Joan's curiosity led her to explore various bird species across different continents. She was captivated by the graceful Centropus sinensis, also known as the greater coucal, with its long tail feathers swaying elegantly through dense foliage. An Asian parrot illustration caught Joan's eye during one of her expeditions. The intricate details showcased its radiant colors and unique features that make these creatures so enchanting. Intrigued by rare finds, Joan embarked on a journey to witness Babyrousa babyrussa up close – better known as babirusa or deer-pig due to its peculiar appearance resembling both animals combined. The Megalaima zeylanica, or brown-headed barbet, became another subject of fascination for Joan. Its distinctive call echoed through lush forests while it perched gracefully on branches adorned with colorful fruits. Joan couldn't resist photographing the mesmerizing Psittacula cyanocephala - also called plum-headed parakeet - whose iridescent hues seemed like they were painted by an artist's brushstroke. As she delved deeper into her research, Joan discovered Tragulus javanicus – lesser mouse-deer – blending seamlessly into their natural habitat despite their diminutive size. Their elusive nature made them even more intriguing to study. Witnessing Anthracoceros albirostris convexus in flight was truly awe-inspiring for Joan; this Oriental pied hornbill soared majestically across the sky, its large beak a symbol of strength and resilience.
