"Daylight Raid from my Studio Window, 7 July 1917. Lavery, Sir John 1856-1941. From 1929 catalogue card:If the screen across the lower part of the window be examined it will be seen that Lady Lavery is faking a religious effigy. The dark pigment has obscured this, but the impasto of the under-painting is quite definitive."

LCC-LFB Bishopsgate fire station, City of London

Bishopsgate fire station, located at 162 Bishopsgate, City of London, 10 July 1904, showing the combination of horse drawn and mechanised fire engines. The horseless engine is a self-propelled fire engine called the Fire-King with a top speed of 25 miles per hour and weight of 5.5 tons. The station finally closed in 1964 with the opening of the new Barbican fire station

1935 Kings Silver Jubilee Fleet Review

A panoramic view showing the berthing arrangements made for the Review of the Fleet at Spithead by King George V to celebrate his Silver Jubilee. The pageant included ships of the Royal Navy, the Royal Indian Navy, the Royal Australian Navy, the Merchant Navy and the fishing fleet. To the left of the picture, the King's yacht, Victoria and Albert is preceded by the Trinity House yacht, Patricia as it passes through the lines. Date: 16 July 1935
