The majestic Mountain Zebra, scientifically known as Equus zebra, can be found in the Erongo Region of Namibia. With its striking black and white stripes, this beautiful creature captivates all who lay eyes on it. One adorable member of this species is the Hartmann Mountain Zebra foal or colt, photographed at the Woodland Park Zoo in Portland Oregon. This little one brings joy to visitors with its playful antics and innocent charm. In the Mountain Zebra National Park, another fascinating animal shares its habitat - the rock hyrax or rock dassie (Procavia capensis). These small mammals are often seen perched on rocks, surveying their surroundings with a watchful eye. A breathtaking sight awaits those lucky enough to witness a zebra at Waterhole Moonrise. As dusk settles over the landscape, these graceful creatures gather by a watering hole under the moonlit sky, and is truly a magical experience. In Tarangire National Park in Tanzania, an impala stands behind a group of zebras. The contrasting colors create a stunning visual display against the backdrop of lush greenery. Nature's artistry at its finest. At London Zoo, an extraordinary hybrid exists - a male Mountain Zebra crossed with Hartmanns Mountain Zebra standing proudly in his paddock. This unique blend showcases nature's ability to surprise us with unexpected wonders. Traveling back in time to 1929 at London Zoo, we find ourselves admiring a mother mountain zebra and her foal captured in black and white photography. Their bond is evident as they stand side by side amidst their zoo enclosure. Another hybrid makes an appearance - this time it's Chapmans Zebra x Mountain Zebra foal accompanied by its proud mother. The blending of different species creates intriguing patterns that highlight nature's endless possibilities for diversity. Returning once again to London Zoo but now stepping even further into history - September 1921.
