Raffaello Sanzio, commonly known as Raphael, was an Italian painter and architect of the High Renaissance. Born in Urbino in 1483, he became one of the most influential artists of his time. His works are characterized by their beauty, harmony, and attention to detail. One of his most famous pieces is "The School of Athens, " a fresco located in the Stanza della Segnatura at the Vatican. Painted around 1510-1511, it depicts a gathering of great philosophers and scientists from ancient Greece.
