"Riley Lynx: A Classic Competitor in the Golden Era of Motoring Trials" Step back in time to the thrilling world of motoring trials in the 1930s, where the Riley Lynx roared onto the scene as a formidable competitor. With its sleek design and powerful engine, this iconic car left an indelible mark on racing history. In 1933, at the Sunbac Colmore Trial in Gloucestershire, spectators marveled at the prowess of RC Player's Riley Lynx as it conquered challenging terrains with finesse. The artist Bill Brunell captured this unforgettable moment on canvas, immortalizing both car and driver. Two years later, another masterpiece by Brunell showcased Riley Lynx's triumph at the MCC Lands End Trial. This time it was driven by AR Rye, who fearlessly tackled treacherous paths and emerged victorious amidst fierce competition. The painting vividly portrays their triumphant journey through rugged landscapes. The allure of motoring trials continued to captivate enthusiasts throughout the decade. In 1934, EWD Ritchie took his Riley Lynx to compete in yet another MCC Lands End Trial. Brunell's artistry once again brought this exhilarating event to life on canvas – showcasing not only Ritchie's skillful driving but also highlighting every curve and contour of this remarkable vehicle. The year 1939 witnessed two significant moments for Riley Lynx. Firstly, MG Shoreys piloted his car to lead AL Bakers' MG Magnette at the prestigious MCC Torquay Rally – a testament to both speed and endurance. Secondly, during that same rally, Shoreys secured a bronze award for his exceptional performance behind the wheel of his beloved Riley Lynx. Journeying further into that memorable year is Brunell's depiction of JCC Rally held at Brooklands Surrey – where a spirited Sprite variant competed fiercely against other legendary cars.
