One of a pair of masks that fit one over the other. The inner mask, which has pierced eyes, is in the Musee de l'Homme, Paris. Despite the weight of the mask it appears that during winter rituals it was worn over the face, perhaps supported by the hands. Country of Origin: Northwest Coast of America. Culture: Tsimshian.
