Sacsahuaman or Saksaq Waman (possibly from Quechua language, waman falcon] or variable hawk) is a citadel on the northern outskirts of the city of Cusco, Peru. Sections were first built by the Killke culture about 1100; they had occupied the area since 900. The complex was expanded and added to by the Inca from the 13th century; they built dry stone walls constructed of huge stones. The workers carefully cut the boulders to fit them together tightly without mortar. The site is at an altitude of 3, 701 m (12, 142 ft)

This print showcases the mesmerizing night view of Sacsahuaman Fortress in Cusco, Peru. Taken in 2015 by the talented photographer Luis Rosendo, this image beautifully captures the intricate lighting that illuminates the ancient citadel. Sacsahuaman, also known as Saksaq Waman in Quechua language (meaning falcon or variable hawk), is a historic site located on the northern outskirts of Cusco. Its grandeur and historical significance make it one of Peru's most treasured heritage sites. Luis Rosendo's photograph not only captures the magnificence of Sacsahuaman but also transports viewers into its mystical ambiance under a starry night sky. This stunning visual representation invites us to appreciate and marvel at this remarkable feat accomplished by ancient civilizations long ago.
