The inscription is from Haggai 1: Thus speaketh the LOord of hosts: This people saie, The tyme is not yet come, that the Lords house should be built. Then came the word of the Lord by Haggai the prophet, saying, Is it tyme for yourselves, (O yee), to dwell in your seiled houses, & this house lye waste.
