Delphinus doris, commonly known as the Common Dolphin, is a highly social and acrobatic cetacean belonging to the Delphinidae family and the Odontoceti suborder. In this illustration from "The Lizards of Australia and New Zealand" by John Edward Gray (1800-1875), we are offered a glimpse into the anatomy of this remarkable marine mammal through the depiction of its skull (plate 20).
