Plate 399 from John James Audubon's iconic work, "Birds of America," showcases three exquisitely detailed bird species: the MacGillivray's Warbler (Oporornis tolmiei), Blackburnian Warbler (Dendroica fusca), and the Yellow-throated Vireo (Dendroica virens). This stunning hand-coloured aquatint print, created between 1835 and 1838, was engraved, printed, and coloured by R. Havell (& Son) in London. The image captures these passerine birds in their natural habitat, perched gracefully on branches.
