Born into the powerful Howard family, Norfolk rose to prominence under King Henry VIII, serving variously as Lord Chamberlain, Lord Privy Seal, Lord Treasurer, and Lord High Admiral. His political acumen and loyalty earned him numerous titles and the trust of the monarch. The Duke's attire in this image reflects his high rank. He wears a richly embroidered doublet and hose, adorned with intricate gold and silver thread, and a velvet cap with ermine trim.
