The hill, which stands proudly against the backdrop of a stormy sky, was a strategic location that changed hands several times between the Serbians and the Central Powers. The Serbian army, under the command of General Jovan Belimarković, managed to capture Hill 1050 on November 20, 1916, after a fierce battle.
