The butcher's name is a nod to the infamous trusts of the early 20th century, which monopolized industries and controlled production and pricing to their advantage. Surrounding the butcher are an array of questionable meat products, each with a label bearing a disturbing name: Potted Poison, Chemical Corn Beef, Bob Veal Chicken, Tuberculosis Lard, Decayed Roast Beef, Deodorized Ham, Embalmed Sausages, and Putrefied Pork. The labels suggest that the meat being sold may not be of the highest quality or even safe for consumption.
