Albrecht Dürer: The Renaissance Master of Art and Self-Expression Albrecht Dürer (1471-1528), a renowned German painter, printmaker, and theorist, is depicted in this striking self-portrait woodcut. Dürer's influence on European art was significant, bridging the gap between the Northern and Southern European artistic traditions during the Renaissance. This image is a lithograph after a drawing by H.V.H, taken from "Portraits of the most celebrated painters of all the schools," published in London in 1828. Dürer's self-portrait, created around 1500, showcases his intense gaze and meticulous attention to detail, reflecting the depth of his artistic soul. The 19th century brought new interpretations of Dürer's work, as seen in the various artistic productions of the time.
