Birth of a baby at Rochford General Hospital, Essex. When Janet Gisby was admitted, the chances were high that, after two miscarriages, she would lose her baby. Fortunately the hospital was able to use the latest in medical technology invented by hospital electronics specialist Dennis Richard. This device constantly monitored her unborn child and provided doctors and nurses with vital information during the delivery. After a fairly short labour her baby daughter Sharon Linda was born safe and well. Date: 1975. The momentous occasion was made all the more miraculous given Janet's previous struggles with two miscarriages. At the time, the odds seemed stacked against her, but the hospital was able to utilize the latest in medical technology, invented by hospital electronics specialist Dennis Richard, to ensure the best possible care for both mother and baby. The device, which constantly monitored the unborn child, provided doctors and nurses with vital information during the delivery. This groundbreaking technology allowed for closer monitoring of the baby's heart rate, fetal movement, and other essential signs, enabling the medical team to intervene if necessary and ensure a safe and healthy delivery. Janet's labor was relatively short, and with the assistance of skilled midwives, Sharon Linda was born safe and well.
