Hereford: Automobile Club Small Car Trials 1904

In 1904 The Automobile Club organised a trial of light cars from August 29 to September 3, on routes radiating daily from Hereford for six days. Of thirty-five starters, twenty-three completed the total distance of 620 miles. Gold medals were awarded in respect of two Wolseleys, one Siddeley, and two Swifts; silver medals were earned by two De Dion-Moutons, one Humber, and two Alldays. Six bronze medals were also awarded. In the early days of automobile history, the Automobile Club of Great Britain and Ireland organized a groundbreaking event: the Small Car Trials of 1904. Held from August 29 to September 3, this trial saw thirty-five light cars take on six challenging days of routes radiating daily from Hereford.
