King Henry VI of England and Margaret of Anjou's wedding at Titchfield Abbey on 23 April 1445 was a grand spectacle, with the young king, aged 24, and his bride, a 15-year-old Margaret, exchanging vows in the presence of a bishop and an assemblage of courtiers. The scene is depicted in this handcoloured steel engraving after an illustration by John Leech from Gilbert Abbott A Beckett's Comic History of England, published by Bradbury, Agnew & Co.
