The illustration was drawn and directed by the renowned French botanical illustrator Pierre Jean-Francois Turpin (1775-1840), and engraved by Stanghi. Typha angustifolia, also known as the Narrow-leaved Bulrush, is a perennial herb commonly found in wetlands and along the edges of ponds and streams.
