Andrea, in the title role of this popular 19th-century French play. The image, created by Louis Marie Fontan and Jean-Joseph Ader, was based on an illustration by Alexandre Lacauchie, published in Victor Dollet's Galerie Dramatique: Costumes des Théâtres de Paris (Gallery of Dramatic Costumes: Costumes of the Parisian Theatres) in 1845. Le Barbier du Roi d'Aragon, a comedy by Eugène Scribe and Mélesville, premiered at the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin in Paris on January 15, 1844. Mlle.
