The Paris-Vienna Race, organized by the Automobile Club de France, marked the first international automobile race, starting in Paris, France, and ending in Vienna, Austria. Simultaneously, the Gordon Bennett Cup Race, established by the Irish millionaire James Gordon Bennett, Jr., took place in Europe for the third time, with the 1902 event beginning in Zurich, Switzerland, and traversing Germany. 3.
