The illustration was engraved by Carini, drawn by Jean Gabriel Pretre, and directed by the renowned French botanical illustrator Pierre Jean-Francois Turpin. Turpin (1775-1840) is considered one of the greatest botanical illustrators of the 19th century, known for his exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
