The Art Studio - Tudor Hall School - Burnt Norton, Campden, Gloucestershire. In 1910, the school moved to Somerset from London. At the outbreak of the Second World War the school was moved to Burnt Norton, near Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire, to escape the air raids (when this photograph was taken). However, the school outgrew the property during the war, making its final move in January 1950 to its current location. Date: circa 1941

In 1910, Tudor Hall School, an esteemed girls' boarding school, relocated from London to Somerset to escape the city's hustle and bustle. When the Second World War broke out, the school was once again forced to move, this time to the picturesque village of Burnt Norton to shield its pupils from the threat of air raids. In this image, a group of young girls, dressed in traditional school uniforms, are seen engrossed in an art lesson in the school's makeshift studio.
