Hawker P.1101 Hunter T Mk.7 prototype XJ615. First flown on 8 July 1955, the initial shape of the canopy caused severe airflow problems. This photograph shows XJ-615 after having the definitive canopy shape and fairing fitted. The image was taken in 1956, following the first flight of the Hunter T Mk.7 on 8 July 1955. The prototype, manufactured by Hawker, was fitted with a definitive canopy and fairing to rectify the aerodynamic issues. After successful flight tests were completed, XJ615 was delivered to the Royal Air Force on 1 May 1959. However, the aircraft was unfortunately written off on 24 June 1964.
