This photograph showcases Northrop T-38A Talon 61-0941 (msn N.5307, buzz number TF-941) during an air display at Point Mugu Naval Air Station on May 15, 1965. At the time, this aircraft was operated by the United States Air Force as a T-38A-40-NO Talon. The sleek and agile T-38 Talon is a twin-engine, supersonic advanced jet trainer, which was first introduced in the late 1950s. The T-38A served as a valuable training asset for the US Air Force, helping to prepare pilots for the complex systems and high-performance capabilities of modern military aircraft. In the years following this photograph, Talon 61-0941 was re-designated as a GAT-38A and was later assigned as an instructional airframe at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas.
