United States Air Force - Convair VC-131H Samaritan 54-2815 (msn 217). Briefly on civil registry as N8448H with Convair. Delivered to the USAF as a VC-131D on 10 December 1954. Converted to VC-131H (Model 580 standard with Allison 501 turboprop engines) and transferred to the United States Navy in April 1979 but retained USAF serial. To Peruvian Police as PNP-025. Sold on civil market as N7146X, became N723ES, cancelled on 7 November 2007 on sale to owner in Canada, registered 17 January 2008 to the Ministry ofthe Environment, Province of Saskatchewan as C-GSKQ. This photograph showcases the United States Air Force's (USAF) Convair VC-131H Samaritan with the serial number 54-2815 (msn 217), also known as "N8448H" during its brief civil registry period. Delivered to the USAF as a VC-131D on December 10, 1954, this aircraft was later converted to the VC-131H model, featuring Allison 501 turboprop engines, and was transferred to the United States Navy in April 1979 while retaining its USAF serial number. After its military service, the Convair VC-131H found its way to Peru, where it became part of the Peruvian Police fleet, carrying the registration PNP-025. The aircraft later resurfaced on the civil market, first as N7146X, then N723ES. It was eventually sold to a Canadian owner in November 2007, and registered with the Ministry of the Environment, Province of Saskatchewan, as C-GSKQ. This image captures the Convair VC-131H in its 1960s glory, showcasing the aircraft's distinctive design and powerful turboprop engines.
