Over the next few years, it was assigned to the 4713th Defense Systems Evaluation Squadron at Otis Air Force Base. However, by February 1979, the EB-57E Canberra 55-4251 was put into storage at the AMARC (Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Center) bone yard. After nearly a decade in storage, the aircraft was scrapped by Allied Aircraft Sales of Tucson, Arizona, in August 1984.
