This photograph showcases the sole surviving example of the Gloster Goral, a rare and historic British aircraft with the registration number J8673. The Goral is a two-seat biplane trainer, designed and built by the Gloster Aircraft Company in the early 1920s. This particular aircraft, however, holds an intriguing distinction - it was fitted with surplus wings from a de Havilland DH.9A aircraft. The DH.9A was a well-known British two-seat biplane trainer that saw extensive use during World War I and the interwar period. Its wings, which were no longer needed in the Gloster production line, were repurposed for the Goral, providing it with a unique and cost-effective solution. The Goral, with its distinctive green and red livery, is seen here taxing on a grass airfield. Its open cockpit, exposed engine, and wooden structure are reminiscent of the early days of aviation.
