Air Chief Marshal Sir Keith Park (1892-1975), a renowned figure in the history of the Royal Air Force (RAF), is depicted in this striking photograph taken in 1975. Park, who served in the RAF from 1912 to 1951, is best known for his leadership during the Battle of Britain, where he commanded the No. 11 Group, responsible for the defense of southern England against the German air raids. After retiring from the military, Sir Keith Park continued to contribute to the aviation world, serving as the President of the Royal Aeronautical Society from 1961 to 1963. He passed away on July 22, 1975, leaving behind a lasting legacy as a hero of the Battle of Britain and a pioneering figure in the development of the RAF.
