Born into the ancient Clan Fraser, Lovat rose to prominence during the tumultuous period of Scottish history known as the Jacobite Rebellions. Lovat's allegiance to the Stuart cause earned him the nickname "The Old Fox," a testament to his cunning and resourcefulness. This betrayal, however, did not save him from the gallows. After the defeat of the Jacobites at the Battle of Culloden, Lovat was captured and tried for treason. He was found guilty and sentenced to death, becoming the last person to be executed in Britain for this offense.
