Circa 1921, in this photograph from the Mary Evans Picture Library, taken by John Maclellan, the tank's rusted exterior is covered in a thick layer of dust and debris, a stark contrast to the lush greenery that surrounds it. A notice, attached to the tank in French, warns against entering the vehicle, its words etched in the fading ink of time. The notice reads, "Interdit d'entrer" - Forbidden to Enter.
