Harry Macdonalds Woodcarvers Shop - Woolmer Green, Knebworth, Hertfordshire. Harry MacDonald (a Yorkshireman) came south and brought this cottage for 1, 000 in 1937. He built his model village over the years & also carved serious subjects. Macdonald died on 23rd April 1971 and the cottage was (very sadly in my opinion) demolished in 1981. Date: circa 1930s

Over the following decades, MacDonald transformed the humble abode into a woodcarving wonderland. The exterior of the shop was adorned with intricately carved figures and animals, each one meticulously crafted by MacDonald's skilled hands. The walls were decorated with a myriad of carved designs, showcasing his artistic flair and dedication to his craft.
