Regulars at the Burgoyne Hotel, Sheffield, indulge in their two favorite pastimes
Regulars at the Burgoyne Hotel, Sheffield, indulge in their two favorite pastimes, " Pigeon Fancying and Drinking". During the war, the landlord, Mr. Harold Pantling, and some of his regulars, all of them racing pigeon enthusiasts, turned their peace time hobby into war work and bred birds for active service with the forces. To keep up interest, he has been holding a " Pigeon and Pints Night", at which his customers can hold a competition for the best bird, in the bar parlour every Sunday night during the winter.
