Animals: Humour: "Daisy"the 12 week old Lamb has joined the Dog Training Club
Animals: Humour: " Daisy" the 12 week old Lamb has joined the Dog Training Club at Wellington, Somerset. Her owner, Vivienne Harcombe bottle fed her when she was orphaned at birth and after living with Viviennes two dogs, " Daisy" believed she was a dog too. Viviennes friend Rachel Houghton is the instructor at the Wellington Dog Training Club and they were looking for a way to stop dogs worrying sheep on the local farms. The answer was to take " Daisy" to the dog training classes. Now, after only a few weeks, the dogs and lamb enjoy training sessions together. July 1981

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this heartwarming photo print, we are introduced to "Daisy" a 12-week-old lamb who has found an unexpected home at the Wellington Dog Training Club in Somerset. Daisy's journey began when she was orphaned at birth and lovingly bottle-fed by her owner, Vivienne Harcombe. Growing up alongside Vivienne's two dogs, Daisy started to believe that she too was a dog. Enter Rachel Houghton, a friend of Vivienne's and the instructor at the Wellington Dog Training Club. With concerns about dogs worrying sheep on local farms, Rachel had a brilliant idea - why not bring Daisy to the training classes? And so it happened. Now, after just a few weeks of training sessions together, this unlikely group of canines and one woolly lamb have formed an extraordinary bond. The photo captures their camaraderie as they engage in playful activities and learn valuable skills side by side. This delightful scene is not only filled with humor but also showcases the power of friendship across species boundaries. It serves as a reminder that love knows no bounds and that animals have an incredible capacity for adaptation and acceptance. Taken in July 1981 by Mirrorpix from Memory Lane Prints, this snapshot from the past transports us back to simpler times where humans and animals could find common ground amidst laughter and shared experiences.
