Pupil, Aiden Reeve is seen in the passenger seat of his Father
Pupil, Aiden Reeve is seen in the passenger seat of his Fathers helicopter after it called at his school, Arnold Lodge Prep School, in Leamington, where pupils have been collecting stamps for the " Blue Peter" television programme appeal to help the sick in remote parts of Tanzania, East Africa. The helicopter is owned by Aidens dad, Richard who farms at Eathorpe. He transported the sack of stamps to the " Blue Peter" depot in Kidlington near Oxford. The school began collecting the stamps in mid-January and achieved an average of 330 per pupil. The sack weighed about 30lbs and contained more than 100, 000 stamps. Mrs. Moira King, the headmasters secretary said: " We were absoluteley delighted with the response and were quite overwhelmed." Film of the lift-off and interviews with the boys by one of the shows presenters, Chris Wenner, will be shown in a future edition of the popular TV programame.

EDITORS COMMENTS
In this print from 6th March 1979, young pupil Aiden Reeve is seen sitting in the passenger seat of his father's helicopter. The helicopter had just made a special visit to Arnold Lodge Prep School in Leamington, where pupils like Aiden had been diligently collecting stamps for the "Blue Peter" television program appeal. These stamps were destined to help those in need in remote parts of Tanzania, East Africa. Aiden's father, Richard, who is also a farmer from Eathorpe, generously offered his helicopter to transport the sack filled with over 100,000 stamps to the "Blue Peter" depot located near Oxford. Weighing approximately 30lbs and collected by an average of 330 stamps per pupil at Arnold Lodge Prep School since mid-January, this remarkable effort left everyone involved feeling overwhelmed and delighted. The headmaster's secretary at the school, Mrs. Moira King expressed her absolute delight with the response received from both students and their families. This heartwarming act of kindness showcased not only the generosity within the community but also highlighted how even small contributions can make a significant impact on those less fortunate. To commemorate this extraordinary event, film footage was captured during lift-off and interviews were conducted with some of the boys involved by Chris Wenner - one of "Blue Peter's" popular presenters. Viewers eagerly await its airing on an upcoming episode as it promises to inspire others with its touching story of compassion and unity.
