The project, also titled Cardiff Born and Bred, has been set up by training company Cyfle as part of a six-month course called Digital Delta. Residents of all ages are being encouraged to unite by uploading a video of themselves either singing lines to the song or describing their memories of Cardiff Bay as the project tries to document the history of the area. The idea is that younger people can take part by creating their own videos or helping older people to film their videos so a wide range of stories can be collected and will be shared on the Echo Bay History blog

EDITORS COMMENTS
Cardiff Folk Singer Frank Hennessy, known for his soulful melodies and heartfelt lyrics, is captured in this nostalgic print on the banks of the River Taff. It was taken on a sunny day in August 1981 as Hennessy embarked on an intriguing quest - to find the elusive Grangetown Whale. Decades later, a new online project titled 'Cardiff Born and Bred' has emerged, inviting individuals from all walks of life to contribute their own renditions of Hennessy's iconic song 'Cardiff Born Cardiff Bred'. Spearheaded by training company Cyfle as part of their Digital Delta course, this initiative aims to unite residents young and old in documenting the rich history of Cardiff Bay. The project encourages participants to upload videos showcasing themselves singing lines from the beloved song or sharing personal memories of Cardiff Bay. The hope is that younger generations will collaborate with older members of the community, capturing a diverse range of stories that will be shared through the Echo Bay History blog. This image serves as a reminder not only of Frank Hennessy's musical legacy but also highlights how art can bridge generational gaps and preserve cherished memories for future generations. As we delve into these narratives woven together by different voices, we honor both our past and present while celebrating the vibrant spirit that defines Cardiff.
