Five smiling dancers who were breaking new ground with the Caprian Amateur Operatic and Drama Society, back in April 1970.
For the society was the first amateur group in the Tyneside area to tackle the musical farce A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum which was presented for six nights at the Gateshead Little Theatre.

Full-back Terry Davies kicked a 50 yard penalty goal and wing John Collins scored a try, but the spoils went to France who won their first game at Cardiff Arms Park 50 years after first trying to do so. Tries by Pierre Danos and Pierre Tarricq, both converted by fly-half Labazuy, to which outstanding full-back Michel Vannier added two dropped goals, sealed Wales's fate
