Activities Brownies Drink Girl Guides Organisation Teapot Uniform

EDITORS COMMENTS
Parents and teachers at Guisborough's Belmont School gathered together for a delightful afternoon of tea-tasting, thanks to the 7th Brownies. As part of their national tea-pouring fortnight, these young girls showcased their brewing skills by serving up delicious cups of culpa. Nicola Winn and Sarah Ward, both 10 years old, eagerly took on the responsibility of pouring fresh Earl Grey from an elegant teapot. This special event aimed to teach the Brownies not only how to brew a tasty cuppa but also how to handle domestic kitchen equipment safely. The various samples of Britain's favorite drink were generously provided by Mrs Electra Robinson, owner of a local delicatessen. Her contribution added an extra touch of flavor and expertise to this educational experience. The photograph captures the enthusiasm and concentration on Nicola and Sarah's faces as they carefully pour the aromatic tea into delicate china cups. Dressed in their smart Brownie uniforms, they exemplify the values of teamwork and learning that are central to this esteemed organization. Taken on April 14th in 1984, this snapshot transports us back to a simpler time when community involvement was cherished. It reminds us that education extends beyond textbooks and classrooms; it can be found in everyday activities like sharing a pot of tea with friends.
