Hats off to Cadet Petty Officer Michael Locke - who won top honours on dry land when he took part in a cross country competition against cadets from all over Yorkshire. The 16-year-old Huddersfield Sea Cadet, from Golcar, was first in the senior individual section of the competition held in Dewsbury, in which cadets from seven corps took part. Second place went to 15-year-old Cadet Leading Seaman Phillip Cooling, of Lowerhouses, Huddersfield Sea Cadets team came second in the junior and senior events. 18h April 1985
