EDITORS COMMENTS
Look out world, here we come. . . intrepid globetrotters from the Scout movement! Meet Richard Beaumont, James Ellam, Graeme Murray, and Robin Ferguson, four determined scouts on a mission to raise £8,000 for their trip to Korea. Their destination? The 17th World Jamboree in 1991. These young adventurers are not just dreaming of exploring new horizons; they are actively working towards making it a reality. Each scout must raise £2,000 for this three-week journey that will take them through Japan and eventually lead them to the Sorek National Park in Korea where the jamboree awaits. Instead of going at it alone, these resourceful youngsters have decided to pool their wits and jointly raise funds. They have already planned exciting events like chariot races and coffee mornings as part of their future money-spinning endeavors. Amongst them is Graeme Murray and Richard Beaumont from the 35th Huddersfield (Lepton Methodist) Scout group. Robin Ferguson hails from the 5th Huddersfield (Skelmanthorpe), while James Ellam attends the 7th Huddersfield (Clayton West) group. This photo captures their enthusiasm and determination as they embark on this incredible adventure together. It serves as a reminder that with teamwork and perseverance, anything is possible for these dedicated scouts who are ready to conquer new frontiers.
