EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this print from Memory Lane Prints, we are transported back to the summer of 1983 at Stockton Preston Hall Museum. A trio of dedicated job creation workers, Ivor Jenkinson, Nigel Alexander, and Brian Hope, can be seen diligently working on a remarkable project that would breathe new life into Cleveland's museums. Their mission? To restore the museum's collection of historic hand carts and bring them back onto the streets for public display. The wheels have been set in motion as they begin renovating a magnificent 60-year-old industrial fire cart generously donated by a private collector. With paintbrushes in hand and determination in their eyes, these skilled craftsmen pour their hearts into each stroke as they meticulously repair and renovate these precious artifacts. Once they complete their work on this particular cart, they will move on to revitalize other carts within the collection housed at Preston Hall Museum. This ambitious endeavor not only showcases the dedication and expertise of these three men but also highlights the importance of preserving our rich history for future generations. As visitors explore Stockton-on-Tees' tourist attractions like never before through this unique exhibition, it serves as a reminder of how far we've come while honoring our past.
