With a little help from my friends... 10-year-old Katy Hardaker is pictured with friends from Almondbury Junior School who did a sponsored walk to raise money for a new tricycle. Katy, who suffers from arthritis, has been loaned a tricycle by the Chapel Allerton Unit at Leeds to help her get to and from school. But school friends decided she should have one of her own and about 60 of them took part in the walk around the school grounds which has so far raised £ 200. 11th July 1990

With a little help from my friends. . . 10-year-old Katy Hardaker is captured in this heartwarming photo, surrounded by her supportive friends from Almondbury Junior School. These compassionate youngsters embarked on a sponsored walk to raise funds for Katy's very own tricycle. Katy, who bravely battles arthritis, had been loaned a tricycle by the Chapel Allerton Unit at Leeds to assist her daily commute to school. However, her kind-hearted peers believed she deserved one of her own and took it upon themselves to make it happen.
