Ahoy There! These intrepid sailors get ready to take to the water for a sponsored sail which raised over £ 4, 000 - half for the Imperial Cancer Research Fund and half for the Examiner Bodyscanner Appeal. The sail and carnival, held at Bowshaw Whams reservoir above Holmfirth, was organised by Huddersfield Sailing Club. Teams from all parts of Huddersfield and Holme Valley took part in the sponsored sail and attractions included Hepworth Brass Band, and displays of model sailing, fly fishing and martial arts as well as side shows and stalls. 5th September 1987. © Mirrorpix
