Question time at Birkby Junior School... with head teacher Mr Peter Prichard in
Question time at Birkby Junior School... with head teacher Mr Peter Prichard in the firing line! The interview was conducted by pupils from class 4T, who are taking part in the Examiner Junior Journalist competition. And with notebooks and pens at the ready, the eager " newshounds" jotted down all the answers and are now writing a feature about Mr Prichard for their very own mini-Examiner. To help them on their way, the budding young " journalists, " took time out before their interview to watch the Examiner film Read All About It. They invited Examiner promotions executive Paul Clark to show the film and chat about the competition - which is sponsored by the NatWest Bank. Now the hard work - and the fun as well - begins as they piece together their own newspaper to meet the all important " deadline" which is Friday, November 18 - the competition closing date. 6th October 1988

Question time at Birkby Junior School. . . with head teacher Mr Peter Prichard in the firing line! The interview was conducted by pupils from class 4T, who are taking part in the Examiner Junior Journalist competition. And with notebooks and pens at the ready, the eager "newshounds" jotted down all the answers and are now writing a feature about Mr Prichard for their very own mini-Examiner. To help them on their way, the budding young "journalists" took time out before their interview to watch the Examiner film Read All About It. They invited Examiner promotions executive Paul Clark to show the film and chat about the competition - which is sponsored by NatWest Bank. Now, armed with newfound knowledge and inspiration from their meeting with a professional journalist, these students embark on an exciting journey of creating their own newspaper. With Friday, November 18 as their all-important deadline for submission to the competition, they have no time to waste. The print captures this memorable moment in history on October 6th, 1988 when education met journalism at Birkby Junior School. These enthusiastic youngsters demonstrate not only a thirst for knowledge but also a passion for storytelling. As they piece together articles and photographs for their newspaper entry, they embrace both hard work and fun along this creative endeavor. This snapshot serves as a testament to youthful curiosity and ambition while showcasing how educational initiatives like this foster creativity among students.
