Red Food Fun for Netherton Children's Comic Capers Under Canvas

EDITORS COMMENTS
. In this charming print from 1989, a group of adventurous children from Netherton embarked on an exciting 24-hour outdoor escapade. Nadine Fozard, aged 11, and her sister Jenny, aged 8, set up camp in their garden along with their friends Claire Hulbert (8) and Sarah Hulbert (11). The young explorers decided to make the day even more memorable by surviving solely on a diet of red food. Their menu included specially baked red bread, delectable strawberry jam, comforting tomato soup, wobbly jelly treats, and sticky toffee apples. This creative culinary challenge was not just about having fun but also aimed at raising funds for the renowned charity event Comic Relief. With smiles as bright as their chosen color theme, the children successfully raised an impressive £62 through sponsorship for this charitable endeavor. Their enthusiasm and dedication truly showcased the spirit of giving back within their community. This heartwarming snapshot captures a moment frozen in time - a testament to the innocence and generosity of these young souls. It serves as a reminder that even small acts can make a big difference when done with passion and purpose.
