EDITORS COMMENTS

This print showcases a piece of automotive history - the 1934 Riley Kestrel. Proudly made in Durbar Avenue, Coventry, this vintage beauty was discovered in a derelict state by its current owner, Graham Bosworth, back in 1978. Underneath its worn exterior lies a powerful four-cylinder engine boasting an impressive 1087cc capacity. This remarkable machine is equipped with a pre-selector gearbox featuring an automatic clutch, adding to its allure and sophistication. The craftsmanship of the era is evident in the construction of this Riley Kestrel. Its sleek aluminium body gracefully covers an ash frame that required extensive restoration work; nearly 80 percent had to be painstakingly replaced to bring this gem back to life. The date imprinted on the photograph reads May 29th, 1985 - perhaps marking a significant milestone or event for both the car and its devoted owner. The image itself captures not just a classic automobile but also serves as a testament to Coventry's rich industrial heritage during the early decades of the twentieth century. As we gaze upon this snapshot from Memory Lane Prints, we are transported back to an era where motorcars were more than mere modes of transportation; they were symbols of style, innovation, and timeless elegance.
