Filming of the episode " A Rolls By Any other Name" in the second series of the Thames television situation comedy Bless This House starring Sid James as Sid Abbott and Diana Coupland as his wife Jean.
In the episode which was filmed along Clarence Avenue in New Malden, Sid borrowed his boss Rolls Royce for a try out when he came across a "Ban The Car" demonstration led by his own teenage children Mike and Sally. After he tried to move the demonstrators on, the police arrived, which ended with him being taken in to the back of the Black Maria along with daughter Sally.

Evangelist Dr. Billy Graham is in England for Spree 73, Spiritual Re-Emphasis Week, to be held at Earls Court from Monday 27th August to Friday 31st August, and at Wembley Stadium Saturday 1st September. Spree 73 at Earls Court is for aid delegates taking part in a week's training. Dr Graham will be speaking each evening with Cliff Richard and others participating. Johnny Cash will participate at Wembley. 23rd August 1973
