A cheque for £126,492, believed to be a United Kingdom record, was presented to the North of England Children's Cancer Research fund at Gosforth Park. The money is part of the proceeds of the fifth annual five-mile run held at Gosforth Park, Newcastle, on May 10th. Race organising committee chairman Colin Gregg (right) hands over the cheque to Dr Alan Craft. 7th July 1987
