The Spice Girls were an internationally known all girl pop group, whose songs and slogan "Girl Power", were a major feature of the 1990s. They were made up of
Victoria Adams, later to become Victoria Beckham, Melanie C, Mel B, Emma Bunton and Geri Halliwell, who left in May 1998.
They released their first single "Wannabe" on 7th July 1996 and in October they released "Say You'll Be There". Further hits like "2 Become 1" and "Spice Up Your Life" followed, plus the hit film "Spiceworld" until December 2000 when the group announced they were taking an indefinite hiatus
