Miss Dorothy Spittle, from The Abbey Cottage, Denbigh, is an expert in the traditional and exacting art of ecclesiastical embroidery, she has worked at Liverpool Cathedral for the last 16 years, making and looking after the beautiful and ornate altar cloths known as frontals, one of which took her two years to complete, as well as giving lessons to a group of Merseyside enthusiasts, she has recently decided that it is time to retire.
